Geothermal Applications

Doosan Škoda Power offers specific steam turbine models designed for geothermal applications. The steam turbine is ready to be operated using both superheated steam and saturated steam (flash technology). Our design enables worldwide installations, including high seismicity areas. The working fluid in geothermal applications is specific by its composition as it may contain dissolved gases or mechanical impurities. Therefore, the highest durability of the materials used is required to build this turbine. Material properties can be locally strengthened by injection moulding or coating. These technologies have been developed and tested at Doosan Škoda Power for a long time. High attention is given to moisture drainage between the working stages in order to protect the key components against erosion and to maintain high efficiency.
