Statement by Doosan Škoda Power on media reports concerning negotiations between KHNP and the consortium of Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Doosan Enerbility regarding the construction scope of the Dukovany new nuclear power plant project

In connection with the recent information concerning negotiations between KHNP, Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Doosan Enerbility regarding the construction scope of the Dukovany new nuclear power plant project, we would like to clarify that these negotiations do not concern Doosan Škoda Power’s separate contract for the supply of the steam turbine for the Dukovany project.

Doosan Škoda Power was not a party to the negotiations concerning the construction scope and was not informed in advance of their progress or outcome.

Daniel Procházka, COO of Doosan Škoda Power says: “For Doosan Škoda Power, the situation remains unchanged. Doosan Škoda Power is not involved in the construction scope of the project; our role concerns the supply of technology, specifically the steam turbine and its associated equipment. Currently, we are in intensive discussions with KHNP for additional supply of related turbine island equipment. Our contract for the supply of the steam turbine for the Dukovany project, which was signed at the beginning of this year, remains fully in force, and we continue to fulfil our contractual obligations in accordance with the agreed schedule. We remain fully focused on meeting our commitments and successfully delivering our part of the project.”

Doosan Škoda Power fully recognizes the importance of the Dukovany new nuclear power plant project for the Czech energy sector and remains focused on the proper fulfilment of its contractual obligations and the successful delivery of its part of the project.
