Doosan Škoda Power inaugurates its Vocational Training Centre

Pilsen (7thNovember, 2023) – Doosan Škoda Power deepens collaboration in education and training with secondary vocational schools and the Pilsen Region the Vocational Training Centre for students in selected fields of vocational training was inaugurated today on Doosan Škoda Power’s production site. The Centre will also serve for testing the professional skills of potential job applicants.


“The continued success and development of our company depends entirely on the skills and abilities of our employees, including future ones. We therefore greatly value our collaboration with technical secondary schools,” says Sukjoo Kang, CEO of the company.

The Vocational Training Centre started its pilot operation this school year. 14 selected students from the Secondary School of Mechanical Engineering of Professor Švejcar, primarily those studying to become mechanical engineers, metalworkers, machine and equipment technicians or mechanical adjusters, are now attending the Vocational Training Centre. The training takes place under the guidance of two instructors who are experienced Doosan Škoda Power employees.
The Vocational Training Centre’s equipment includes e.g. an EMCO five-axis vertical milling centre, EMCO CNC turning centre, TOS FGV32 milling machine, TOS spindle lathe and TOS grinding machine. The classroom has been adapted to accommodate instruction of theory.

“During the practical training component, students are familiarized with the entire production process, the company’s background and specific opportunities for further employment in the field. We are able to offer Technical Training Centre graduates work on contracts in dozens of countries around the world,” states Richard Kabuď, MBA, Human Resources Director at Doosan Škoda Power.

“Doosan Škoda Power pays students enrolled in the Vocational Training Centre benefits, including a food allowance, transport costs and accommodation. Students can also join the Doosan Career Junior Scholarship programme,” adds Lenka Pavlíčková, coordinator of the Vocational Training Centre.

In addition, Doosan Škoda Power’s experts are directly involved in teaching in schools. Like many other fields, the world of engineering is constantly developing, which makes it essential to update school curricula in line with current innovations in the world of technology.
