(Pilsen, Xth January, 2024) – Doosan Škoda Power has signed a contract for a strategically important project to supply a steam turbine for a waste to energy power plant in the USA. This will be Doosan Škoda Power’s first project outside of Europe with Covanta, the waste facility operator.

Covanta is partnering with the end customer, Pasco County, Florida to invest in expanding the capacity of a waste to energy plant located in Spring Hill, Florida. This plant expansion, that increases the total waste processed by 131,500 tonnes per year, is a testament to the vision of Pasco County’s commission and their forward-thinking ideals.
For this project, Doosan Škoda Power will supply a standardized single-case turbine DST-G10, with a gross power output of 15 MW, together with a generator and auxiliary equipment meeting US standards.
This contract demonstrates that Czech turbines belong on the American market due to their technical parameters as well as Doosan’s ability to quickly adapt to new requirements and its efforts to anticipate customer needs. Doosan Škoda Power has leveraged this agility and ability to innovate to move ahead of the competition and strengthen its position on the US market.
