"The interest of our employees in volunteer activities is constantly growing, and for that reason we are very pleased with this award and consider it a further source of motivation. We abide by the rule that both large and small firms should be beneficial to the region in which they operate and to the people living around them. For that reason we want to continue with similar activities," said Richard Kabuď, Director of Human Resources, on the award.
The second year of the Plzeň Region Governor's Prize for social responsibility was organised by the Plzeň region, together with the Regional Chamber of Commerce for the area and the Czech Quality Council. The award is inspired by the similarly conceived National CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Award of the Czech Republic.
As part of one of the company’s main charitable initiatives, the global Doosan Day of Community Service held in March this year saw 130 employees of Doosan Škoda Power take part in various voluntary activities in the local area. Company employees also regularly participate in blood donations drives and in March two dozen employees registered with the National Marrow Donors Registry.
