FC Viktoria Plzeň players and management joined Doosan Škoda Power for a signing ceremony to seal the ongoing sponsorship at the company’s Plzeň factory on 5 May 2015, where Doosan Škoda Power’s CEO, Jiří Šmondrk, CFO, Michal Košacký, and chairman of the labour union, Jaroslav Seemannn, signed the contract.
At the event, 70 Škoda employees and 20 journalists were also invited to take part in an autograph session with five FC Viktoria players.
Said Jiří Šmondrk: “It is an exceptional opportunity where we can promote sport alongside our work in the region, and also benefit from associating with a team whose name now reaches well beyond the Czech Republic .”
Also attending were FC Viktoria Plzeň’s president, Tomáš Paclík, and statutory chairman, Adolf Šádek, as well as prominent local figures Martin Zrzavecký, mayor of Plzeň city, and Jiří Struček, deputy of the president of the Plzeň region.
Added Tomáš Paclik: “Signing a new contract and extending our partnership with Doosan Škoda Power is great news for the club."
The ongoing partnership means the team’s home stadium continues to be known as the Doosan Arena with players sporting the Doosan logo on their uniform. It also provides the opportunity for Doosan Škoda Power and FC Viktoria Plzeň to further their charitable work together.
Šmondrk said: “I am pleased that beyond traditional advertising, we collaborate with FC Viktoria Plzeň substantially in the field of social responsibility. We are not only business partners, but also proud fans of the team.”
