Doosan Škoda Power strengthened its position in Sweden

After the successful tender to supply 39 MW turbine and other engine room components to the Swedish power plant Växjö at the end of last year, Doosan Škoda Power has won another contract in Sweden.

As part of the construction of the new unit for combined production of heat and electricity in Stockholm, Doosan Škoda Power will, apart from 154 MW steam turbine, also supply a generator, turbo-set control system, regeneration system, heaters for hot water heating, the the engine room steam piping as well as assembly and commissioning to AB Fortum Värme samägt med Stockholms stad.

The constructed plant will be fuelled purely with clean biomass and thus is currently one the largest facilities of this type in the world. Commissioning is planned for the beginning of 2016.

Vaclav Lang, the business manager for Doosan Škoda Power in Scandinavia said about the success: „ in this prestigious tender, Doosan Škoda Power won over companies like Siemens, Alstom, MAN, mainly thanks to the technical parameters and flexible approach to the modelling of operational conditions to meet customer’s requirements. Another key factor leading to the success was resolution of requirements by the network operator to connect to the Swedish transmission system, where we successfully joined forces with another Czech company, Energoprojekt. I believe that this contract will intensify our cooperation with Fortune in the Nordic countries and that we will get another contract from them in the future“.
