District Heaters

Following the recommended maintenance plan for turbines extends service life and significantly improves reliability and efficiency. The scope of planned repairs depends on the operating hours of a turbine. Modernisation increases performance and reliability of stream turbines – and speeds up return on investment.

District Heaters

District heaters are used for heating of the district water. The heater consists of tube bundles made of U-tubes or straight tubes, shell and water chamber. The district heater design is based on thermodynamic calculations, using Doosan Škoda Power’s custom made software and internationally recognized design standards.

Design according to EN standards, ASME code, AD Merkblatt, HEI Standard, TEMA Standard.

Heater layout

  • Horizontal
  • Vertical

Tube bundle arrangement

  • Straight tubes
  • U-tubes

Internal surfaces arrangement

  • Drain sub-cooling zone
  • Full flow pass or partial flow pass
  • Condensing zone

Standard design

  • Longitudinally welded stainless steel (choice of steel grade is based on the quality of cooling water)

Angular neck’s up to turbine outlet nozzle are optionally in scope of District Heaters supply. Heater placement may be either fixed or on spring supports (optionally expansion joint may be used).
